learning truths
be kind to yourself
it's important to be kind to yourself. have patience with yourself and your learning. we all learn at our own pace.
set input goals
measuring input (work for x hours) is generally better than measuring output (read x chapters). the reason being that input goals allow you to take learning at a pace that's comfortable with you, and is based on how much work you put in; output goals on the other hand are usually much more demanding and do not take into account variance in the learning process (some chapters + problem sets + concepts maybe harder than others, some days you're in the zone and others you're not).
have fun with it
most important is to enjoy what you're doing. if it's not fun for you stop, pick it back up when you feel like it'll be enjoyable again.
